Bronze is the oldest metal alloy known to mankind. It is ideal for casting works of art because in molten form fills everything, even the most minor deepening of the form. This allows the sculptors to capture the smallest details.
According to the modern view, for the first time man learned to cast products from metal in about 3500 BC, in the era which is called the bronze age. Many civilizations created sculptures of their kings and gods. As for art, the masters of bronze sculpture was the French sculptor of the late 19th century Auguste Rodin. Said that in his sculptures more life than those they portrayed. Bronze is widely used in contemporary art.
