“ARTEK” AND THE STANDARD AND OPTION!

“Fifteen thousand children annually are engaged in technical circles of the pioneer Republic “Artek”. Fifteen thousand young enthusiasts go to their homes with the desire to further improve the acquired skills. But I think these guys tomorrow could be much higher if the experience of “Artek”, his teachers were picked up, examined and transformed in relation not only to the eminent children’s health centers, but also to local conditions most of the summer urban and suburban pioneer camps”.

So ended in the last issue the article on experience on technological creativity in the biggest pioneer camp of the country. To heads of circles for young modelers, we published in No. 4 of the drawings and description of a simple model of the airframe and methodology of lessons, designed for one shift in the period of summer vacations. Today the pages of our magazine provided the missile and automodellista.

Don’t be surprised the simplicity of models, descriptions and drawings which are published here. Not only the teachers of “Artek”, but also many heads of circles of technical creativity for children in various parts of our country have repeatedly stressed that one of the main difficulties in working during summer vacations in summer camp is to ensure that the cups will come, very weak owning the tool does not have even elementary skills in wood and metal. The vast majority of them are eager to build models, but never tried to do it on their own.

In limited time and with limited material means, according to the teachers “Artek” does not make sense to offer the children a more complex development. Although it is not excluded, if the number of students will be the pioneers of a more experienced, already built at least the simplest models. In the latter case, such “qualified” modelers group leader can be his backbone and at the same time working on more complex — kordovye models or copies — charging them with leadership of small groups of newcomers. In this distribution there is another positive side: observing the work of a more experienced friend, young modelers clearly can envision what they need to strive for, what skills they can achieve in the near future.

It should be noted here that in “Artek” also developed methods of training with boys and FOTODELO and astronomy. To them we dedicate the pages in the next room. And yet the two models designed and manufactured by “massive” numbers in the pioneer Republic.
