TRALBOT MODEL

TRALBOT MODEL

The purpose of this vessel is fishing with a small trawl and drift nets no more than 20 miles from the port of refuge. Endurance – 12 days. Main dimensions of the boat: maximum length – 12.75 m, length at waterline – 11.7 m, width – 3 m, draft – 1.3 m. Speed reaches 8 knots, displacement – 18 tons.

The trawler’s hull is steel, with bilge keels. The frames are V-shaped, providing good seakeeping and maneuvering qualities. The stem is inclined at an angle of 30°, which helps reduce the bow wave in front of it and reduces pitching. The forecastle prevents waves from flooding the deck, making control easier and improving working conditions for fishermen. In the stern aperture, a three-bladed propeller is located, behind it is a balanced rudder. The use of a transom stern made it possible to place the engine room in the stern, a large wheelhouse on the deck, and trawl arches and guide blocks along the sides. In front of the wheelhouse on the light cap is a winch with a mechanical drive from the main engine and two drums for cables – all work on raising and lowering fishing gear is performed on it. In the middle part of the hull above the fish hold, there is a hatch with a small coaming and wooden hatch covers. For convenient access to the living quarters, a cap with portholes is installed on the forecastle. A mast rises on it, stayed with shrouds and stays. From the mast to the wheelhouse, a cargo stay with a cargo block is stretched, which allows mechanizing hold work using the trawl winch.
