LAND ROVER FREELANDER

LAND ROVER FREELANDEREnglish automobile firm ROVER (in translation from English — “Rover”) originated from factory, founded in 1877 and manufactures bikes under the same name. My first car — a three-wheeled Rover with the engine De Dion-Bouton — she began to produce in 1903. However, the first vehicle, fully justifying the title “the Rover”, the company has released only in 1948 — it was a versatile four-wheel drive Land Rover, which later had worldwide recognition, and is similar to models created subsidiary company with the name LAND ROVER — many decades of serial production. Among them was a Land Rover series II (1958), Range Rover with 3.5 litre engine (1970) and the Land Rover series III with synchronized transmission (1971).

Cars with the title Land Rover Freelander first appeared on the market in 1997 it was a totally new and more compact SUVs with monocoque body, independent suspension on all wheels and powertrain of a front transverse arrangement.

Land Rover Freelander 2006 model is a further development of named brand, but nevertheless, it’s an entirely different car — although it is equipped with electronic controlled Haldex clutch to drive the rear wheels, but neither underdrive nor for differential locks has. So under normal conditions, the Land Rover Freelander is practically a front wheel drive car with automatic transmission.
