Any rural housewife knows how much time and effort it takes to prepare enough chopped greens and vegetables for livestock and poultry feed, or to process berries for preserving with sugar.
A very simple device can make this work much easier. Just connect a meat grinder to an electric drill, and in 20–30 minutes about 50 kg of greens will be chopped.
The design of the device is simple. Its base is a bracket, either welded or cut entirely from sheet steel 4–5 mm thick. A Ø14 mm hole is drilled in its vertical upright for mounting the drill. The distance H depends on the size of the meat grinder. The drill and the meat grinder are joined by a screw (with the head cut off) whose thread, of course, matches the internal thread in the end of the meat grinder’s screw. The screw is locked with a locknut, and its other end is clamped in the chuck of the electric drill.
It is advisable to use an electric drill with a low or adjustable speed.
