MARTIN B-10/B-12In the early 1930s in the US, the bombers appeared a new generation of high – speed twin-engined all-metal cantilever monoplanes with retractable landing gear. At the rate they are ahead of the then fighters-biplanes. The most successful was Martin 139.

 
He was a development aircraft Martin 123 (XB-907), took to the air in January 1932, In a series in 1934, has launched an improved Martin 139, different closed cockpit and shielded turrets. It was built in two variants with different motors:-10 with R-1820 and V-12 — s, R-1690. The engines were of different modifications with a capacity of 675 – 710 HP First version with small differences between delivered and exported to Argentina, China, Thailand, Turkey and the Dutch East Indies. Two cars of type 139WR in 1936 acquired for the study of the USSR. Total produced 343 instance.
 
American V-10 and V-12 never fought. The last of them survived until 1944 as training and transport.
 
The Chinese planes were engaged in the war with Japan in 1937 – 1938 and Thailand – were used in the conflict with France on the border with Indochina in late 1940, the Dutch machine fought on Borneo and Sumatra against the Japanese in early 1942
