«I find much that is useful, and sometimes simply essential, in your magazine—or rather, in our magazine. Responding to the call to be not only readers but also active contributors, I would like to share my modest experience: building a small garden house and a decorative heating radiator screen».
Gardeners and summer residents often complain about the small size of their plot, where they cannot build anything more substantial than a shed—something more solid, full-sized, with a second floor. This is understandable: everyone would like to spend two summer weekend days out of town “to the full,” with an overnight stay. But how can a family, even a small one, do that in a tiny house, which is often all that members of gardening associations can afford?

1 — stairs, 2 — pyramid for garden tools, 3 — table, 4 — chair, 5 — coat rack, 6 — box, 7 — bed, 8 — stair support blocks, 9 — windows, 10 — cellar hatch, 11 — door.
It turns out it is quite possible if you build a house like this, with a footprint of just 3×3 m but one and a half storeys high, so that the attic space is used as a sleeping area. The “loft” may be low, but it is easy to adapt for overnight stays and rest—for example, with old bed spring frames without headboards. This is convenient: in spring you only bring mattresses and blankets, and the whole family can stay for the weekend.
The magazine has described more than once how to start and how to erect such buildings. So I will limit myself to this recommendation. Building this house requires 1,540 bricks (excluding the cellar). For the cellar—another 640 bricks (with a reserve).
