Open flat wall shelves are a very convenient and versatile type of furniture: besides, for example, books, they can beautifully hold houseplants, vases, and decorative interior items.
For this case, I would like to suggest a simple solution to the problem of mounting such shelves. These are support brackets, each consisting of two main parts: a composite wooden corner support for the shelf and a metal profile for hanging it on the wall.

1 — shelf; 2 — channel; 3 — bracket

1 — plywood corner block; 2 — channel; 3 — holes for fastening plywood corners; 4 — holes for hanging the bracket on the wall; 5 — bolt with nut (2 pcs.)
The corner support is a frame made of flat corners cut from 6 mm plywood and glued together using joiner’s glue, casein glue, or PVA. As the profile, I used an equal-flange channel in which I drilled several holes: some are for fastening it to the inserted corner block, while others are for wall hanging. The rest is clear from the drawing.
