ELECTRONIC IGNITION OF TWO PARTS

ELECTRONIC IGNITION OF TWO PARTSCarbureted internal combustion engines with ignition systems with contact breaker are used in automobiles, motorcycles, motor boats and other vehicles. For such systems uses a variety of so-called electronic ignition systems, improves the process of interrupting current.

The proposed device is very similar to the one presented in the article by V. Gusarov “Electronic ignition” (the journal “Radiomir” № 2, 2002), but differs from it by extreme simplicity. Suffice it to say that it contains only two components: a triac and a resistor. The device provides together with the permanent, reliable, and quality work ignition at any engine speed. In addition, the service life of the breaker contacts is greatly increased. The quality parameters of the described device is superior contactless ignition system.

The device is very simple. When circuit breaker contacts open, the triac (can be applied to the thyristor), since the gate electrode is connected to the plus side of the battery through the resistor R1. In the primary winding of the ignition coil T1 increases the current, and accumulates the electromagnetic energy. After opening of the contacts starts the regular oscillation process between the ignition coil and the capacitor.

At the beginning of this process is sparking in the corresponding cylinder of the engine. This design used the triac TC-112-16-10 differing from such small dimensions with high technical characteristics.

Board made from foil fiberglass 2 mm thick and placed directly on the ignition coil. No theparameter for triac and device settings are required. The resistor R1 is selected watt from considerations of reliability. Electronic ignition was tested on the car VAZ-2106.
