SWIM IN “COT”

SWIM ON There are many simple homemade designs boat, but mine is probably among the most simple. To make it was not difficult: me and my friend Sasha Silantyev took this for two days. And the work was as follows. First of all, with the usual clamshell removed the tarp and springs, and also, cut the rivets, the arc of the headrest. For the longitudinal framing members used a tube from another old clamshell. To blend with a transverse pipe of the framework we came up with, we think, quite an interesting way. After cutting at the end of each longitudinal pipe is made semi-circular notch. At the point of joining on the transverse elements wound through three or four layers of textile adhesive tape and placing the longitudinal pipe, pulled the frame to a steel cable.

The shell of the boat was thin rubberized tarp. We made this tarpaulin cover according to the dimensions of the frame, leaving the sides of the stock about 200 mm. On the edges did a number of holes and almetov their threads (so overcast loop under buttons on clothes), passed through them, a clothesline.

Polik (Slane) cut from plywood 5 mm thick with two sheets connected by loops of card. Plywood impregnated with varnish and lacquered.

Bench for rowers (the Bank) is made from planks of 20 mm thick and mounted on two aluminum brackets on the longitudinal top tube “clamshell”.

Get a boat with a lifting capacity of about 100 kg, that is able to withstand two teenagers or one adult. “Clamshell” is very stable on the water and is completely safe.
