Dissolved in water the salts deposited on the walls of the vessels for boiling in a permanent scale, which is difficult even mechanical cleaning. However, the scale is well softened and then deleted if the capacity to put potato peelings: after boiling the precipitated salt is easily scraped off with a wooden spatula.
