Make a simple table shelf, and you’ll forget the inconvenience. Missing parts not required: two cutting boards or sheet of chipboard and three wooden rod with a diameter of about 20 mm, located between the sidewalls so that the book relied on them. If necessary, these shelves can be made to chain the entire length of the table or even a small bookcase, if you put them on one another with a pin fixing side.
