KITCHEN PENDANTS

KITCHEN PENDANTSKitchens in most of our homes. Set of kitchen furniture is too small and rather monotonous, if not standard. But utensils and other kitchen household utensils is enough to place it in racks and cabinets is no longer possible. And while the hosts still want to see all the accessories were in sight and at hand. Home masters have long found a way out of the situation and came up with various brackets and rod with hooks for suspension on different devices. Picked up this initiative and the industry which produces the whole sets of symbols at once with ready-made brackets or rods. Well what can we say about this — Yes, comfortable and beautiful. Just attach all of them, as a rule, to the walls, and the walls are in turn tiled — beautiful and not cheap, drill where the holes for the dowels just don’t raise a hand. Yes and post on these lodgements “emergency” devices is very problematic.

Here I am, making repairs in the kitchen (propped wall tiles), is also faced with a similar problem: to buy brackets and rods or do them yourself. Seeing them in their respective shops and construction markets, I realized that what I need, still can not find and have to act according to the second embodiment.

Coming home and not to delay the case indefinitely, and looked at the warehouse and picked up the right materials. The main of them — a thin-walled steel pipe outer diameter 12 mm. Another material used is steel wire with a diameter of 5 mm. For all estimation “suggests” making not one but two suspensions. After consulting with my wife (still is, by and large, it “the workplace”), that settled the matter.
The first suspension is performed in the form of l-shaped rod, and the second in the form of an arc. Such configuration “emerges” from the location and functional purpose.

A little bit about manufacturing technologies. It is, in General, normal. The tube bending was carried out on the bending “in the cold”. Before drilling through holes in the pipe, in targeted areas did file the flats and nukernel deep socket. Where it was assumed welding, holes razinkovas — took a deep chamfer.

The hooks on both hangers — the same type (even match their size) as, however, and brackets. These items are made of 5-mm steel wire. One end of the brackets are heated in the flame of a gas burner red-hot, flattened on the anvil and bent at a 90 degree angle. Here drilled a hole with a diameter of 4 mm and razenkova for the mounting screw with countersunk head. On the other end I ground off the chamfer mm below the bracket is passed through the hole in the suspension rod. With the same purpose, made a chamfer on one end all hooks. Others the ends are treated under the hemisphere. Brackets and hooks went into their holes with a slight interference fit (they even had bit of a hammer) and was welded at the outlet to the pipe rod. Welds were processed on the sandpaper flush with the pipe wall.
Following this, cleaned out the rusty places with emery paper, degreased all surfaces with solvent and coated suspension light (gray) primer After drying painted pendants two coats of white enamel PF (and NTS) also with intermediate drying.

In the end, made of nylon plugs and inserted them into the end holes of both bars.

It just so happened that the manufacture of the suspensions I have coincided with the upcoming holiday-the 8th of March. But to present such a gift to his wife you can on weekdays.
