COMPACT WALK-BEHIND

Homemade cultivator it is desirable to make universal, so it can perform various agricultural operations. However, to create a design that is optimal for any work at the farm, is not easy. So, powerful, heavy duty motor-plow, as a rule, is too broad and clumsy in the aisles, and brisk the tiller can’t beat plowing the dense earth. One solution to this problem is offering our reader from Krasnodar territory Vladimir Yakovlev. Its compact one-wheeled machine will help in the treatment of garden beds, will not damage plants close together and, if necessary, in just 10 minutes will turn into two-wheeled motor-plow.

The main purpose of my walk-behind tractor – hoeing – is largely determined by his characteristics: agility, compactness, width of not more than 250 mm. And as the land is located quite far from the house design we wanted to make even and easy. However, knowing that for deep cultivation a light machine is not enough adhesion with the ground, provided the ability to quickly replace one wheel two.
 
Kinematic scheme chosen, perhaps, the most common two – stage chain drive: engine – intermediate shaft – drive wheel.
Welded from steel angles of size 32×32 mm the frame is a hard farm. The lateral corners of the upper frame is mounted an engine from a chainsaw “Friendship” with gear. Before him on the bracket of the area dimensions of 15×15 mm with a small fuel tank, and front vertical corner post of the frame supports the intermediate shaft. Bearing chassis shaft are mounted on the bolts beneath the lower longitudinal corners of the frame. And the rear cross member of steel rod of square section is used for hanging work tools.

One-wheeled layout has high requirements for precision placement of nodes on the frame. Thus, the overall center of gravity must be located exactly above the support surface of the wheel. Therefore, several offset wheel axle, the engine is balanced by the additional weight of metal bar suspended in the front part of the frame.
 
Control knobs made of steel pipes with a diameter of 28 mm and is connected to the rigidity of the crossbar.
In the first stage chain drive uses sprockets from the bike. Small cZ= 14 is replaced by a sprocket drive saw motor and a large Z = 41 is mounted on the intermediate shaft. Wheel chain transmission with a pitch of 19,05 mm also decreasing from the intermediate sprocket Z = 10 to the wheel with Z = 36.
 
Intermediate shaft – a steel rod with a diameter of 30 mm, mounted with their shafts in bearings 60204. The hubs of both sprockets are rigidly fixed with fixing bolts.

The drive wheel in unicycle form is rubber-coated roller from the serial of the cultivator. On it, parallel to the axis, fixed 12 the cleats out of the corner of 20×20 mm, length 90 mm.
 
Wheel hub and sprocket fixed on its axis radial bolts, and because the node can be easily disassembled for replacement two-Wheeler. The wheels in this embodiment are used other: metal, stamped, from agricultural machinery. Lugs to them – from steel angles of sizes 25×25 mm and length 100 mm – can be welded “Christmas tree” of 16 pieces each. Sprocket on a drive shaft is mounted in the same manner and at the same place, as in the unicycle, and the wheel by means of dowels and locking bolts on the shanks. Bearings the drive shaft is installed in closed buildings protected from the mud felt seals.
 
Track walking tractor with two wheels is determined by the drive shaft and can be easily changed. In balancing the widest part of the car was frame – only 225 mm. It is allowed to produce and effectively implement a set of auxiliary attachments for processing the patch. Tillers are able to harrow the soil after ploughing, and lay a furrow with a rake, opposed to undermine, to carry out various kinds of cultivation, and even to sow and fertilize at a certain depth.
