WINDER-SORTER

WINDER-SORTER

The experimental winnowing machine-sorter is designed for selection work. The winnowing machine body is made of pine beams, to which the side plywood walls are attached. The beams are assembled into a tongue and groove in half a tree. The receiving bucket is equipped with a flap, the movement of which regulates the grain feed.

General view and details of the winnowing machine-sorter:
1 — receiving bucket, 2 — discharge chute, 3 — fan blades, 4 — driven pulley, 5 — lever, 6 — crank, 7 — lower sieve, 8 — housing beam, 9 — mill suspension, 10 — feed roller, 11 — casing, 12 — upper sieve, 13 — drive wheel, 14 — discharge chute.

The upper and lower sieve stands are made as one unit and are attached to the body by four hinged suspensions. The sieve stand is set in transverse oscillatory motion by the fan shaft. At its end is a crank disk, which transmits the oscillatory motion to the stand by means of a lever. The fan is equipped with an iron casing with rod spacers, which protect the casing from sagging. The fan blades are fixed on iron spokes, installed on the shaft in the hubs. The diameter of the drive pulley is 400 mm.

The winnowing sorter is driven manually.

The machine works as follows.

The grain is poured into the receiving bucket, from which it is fed by the feed roller to the sieve of the upper sieve mill. Here it is blown by an ascending inclined air flow supplied by a four-bladed fan. In this case, light impurities exiting through the discharge chute are sifted out. Unthreshed ears and stones also accumulate here. The cleaned grain falls on the sorting sieve of the lower sieve mill and is separated by size.

The small-sized winnowing and sorting machine, as tests have shown, ensures good sifting of impurities and precise calibration of grain.
