THE MAIN THING — SPEED

THE MAIN THING IS SPEEDSlowly, but steadily moved to the highest step of the podium, the master of sports of the USSR from the city of Tambov Yuri Remic. In the past, the renowned designer of flying models, he now received, as we think that “permanent residence” in self-similar sports. Extensive experience acquired in the model aircraft competition, the jury has been successfully used during the self-similar battles with high standard. He is a permanent member of the national team of the RSFSR. In its composition has repeatedly been the winner and the winner of the national Championships. For a lot of sporting success included in a national team of the USSR, one of the strongest in Europe.

Consistently different it dostis/seniya recent years. USSR champion 1976 in the category of racing models with an engine capacity of up to 2,5 cm3 (243,243 km/h). In the same year, sets all-Union speed record at a distance of 1000 m — 242,914 km/h. In the following, 1977, he again confirms the title of the best in its class, taking first place at the XXI USSR championship in self-similar sports.

The result (224,999 km/h) at first glance may seem a step backwards, but we must remember that this is the first all-Union competition held in default (without forcing additives) fuel. Your class is confirmed and he is on the international self-similar competition held last summer in Kharkiv: won first place with a score of 246,575 km/h.

Today we talk about design model, masters of sports Yury Remica.

The lower half of the model (pan) milled from a dural (D-16T) of the bar. The reference plane of the engine mounting and gearbox to increase the accuracy of alignment processed in one go.

The upper fairing is hollowed out lime glued blanks. On the outside it is treated with a chisel, then the rasp. Finally the surface is cleaned of coarse sandpaper. The fairing is covered with glyptal primer and painted with several layers of bright synthetic enamel.

The gearbox is one of the main detailed of any model. The accuracy of its performance and the quality of the applied material depends largely on the results of a navigation test. The gear case on the model Remeika made of steel and is assembled from two parts on the four M4 screws. To prevent mutual displacement of the halves includes three hardened steel pins. In the front of the case has lugs with holes, into which enter the ends of the hinge rod of the rear suspension. There is a console ledge, which goes into the rubber dampers.

Gear ratio of 1.93, gears made of alloy steel 12ХНЗА, cemented and hardened to a hardness of 45HRc. The number of teeth of the driving gear is 14, the driven — 27, the module is 1.0.

The axis of the drive wheels rotates in two bearings Ø 6X15 mm, and the driving gear in the two bearings Ø 5×16 mm.

Front suspension — lever, spring. Close wheels planted on the bearings Ø 4X9 mm. In body of the spring mounted pneumatic damper.

Wheels collapsible design. They consist of a duralumin disc inserts, which is vulcanized in the mold a thin layer of high-strength oil-resistant rubber mark BUT-68. For better adhesion of rubber to metal surface of disks processed by “sandblasting” and covered with lacunata is a special fluid that increases the adhesion of rubber to metal.

Drive wheels Ø 80 mm. They are attached to a hub by four screws M3. To prevent runout of the discs they are internal ribs firmly planted on the hub.

The driven wheels Ø 50 mm is pressed onto an axis fixed in bearings of the front control arm.

On the model installed, supercharged glow engine with a cylinder capacity of 2.5 cm3 of the Italian company Rossi. The transition to standard fuel without additives demanded further work on the motor for improved gas dynamic characteristics, allowing it to increase its power.

Using the resonant pipe made the engine work flexible and sustainable, increased the stability of the technical results and improved the adaptability of the model to cordovil coatings of different quality. Tube consists of two halves machined from aluminum on a lathe. They are connected by a sealed in a hollow seam with epoxy. To reduce teplosetevaya, the body of the pipe is covered on the outside with several layers of heat-resistant varnish.

Fuel tank, open type, tin plate 0.3 mm thick is soft soldered with tin solder (POS-40). He has one chest tube, facing forward to boost counter-flow of air (this prevents foaming), filling hole with screw plug.

Stopping the device works “on fuel”, pressing the rubber feeding tube. Is controlled according to the tradition of the lever — antenkoy serving on top of the model.

Cord strap made of aluminum D-16T fastened with four M3 screws to the pallet.

Crutch roll-over has at the end of carbide metal-ceramic soldering.
