Competitions of different rank showed that as prototypes for the manufacture of contour models are used only a dozen types of aircraft. And to participate our aeromodelling circle in the next competition, it was decided to make a model rare prototype. Our choice fell on PIPER CAB, one of the most successful light aircraft, produced in mass quantities since the pre-war (1935).
The subject of today’s article – geophysical rocket R-2A. In previous publications we described in detail the technology of making copies of R-1 and R-2. The same technology used to create the model of R-2A. Will not be superfluous once more to tell for those who have not read those numbers.
Model-a copy of the ballistic missile R-2
In 1951, took arms ballistic missile R-2 (product 8Ж38), created under the leadership of S. P. Korolev. Its performance characteristics were: missile launch weight of 20 to 300 kg, the maximum flight range is 576 km, mass of warhead – more than 1000 kg. R-2 to improve accuracy in lateral direction had a system of the frequency control with two antennas on the body, weight an untucked missiles – 4430 kg.
Simple, easily repaired, volatile, inexpensive… That’s only part of the requirements for training RC model aircraft. These requirements are fully satisfied “Trainer-RC” — RC plane engine with a working volume of 6.5 cm3 type of MDS or 0.S.MAX-40LA.
It is no accident XII-IX century BC historians call the “dark ages”. Throwing model-polyopia su-24. The model is designed and manufactured in the laboratory aeromodelling Center for children and youth technical creativity of the city of Rybinsk for novice modelers. The prototype has become a modern supersonic bomber with variable geometry (sweep) of the wing su-24, standing in service with the Russian air force. The launch of such models always generate interest among club members, and spectators. And thanks to the simplicity of manufacturing the model of this jet was a great success at the country children’s centres.
Apparently, in the technical work appeared in the phenomenon that can be called bottle-modeling. The fact that modelers in different fields are increasingly used… plastic bottles. From these light and sturdy vessels, they made a great hull models of yachts and catamarans, compressed-air cylinders to drive the action of the compressed air motors air and car. Thin clear plastic was the ideal material for the manufacture of lamps for aircraft models.
History of rocketry in our country today is widely reported in the local media. In my opinion, it is interesting it is stated in the book “Rockets and people” – B. E. Chertok (Publishing house “RTSoft”, 2006) – a direct participant in the whole period of the birth of rocket and space technology. These books “pushed” our children-rocketmodeler to implement the idea: to recreate the models in the basic steps of creating missiles and combat shield of the Fatherland and the achievements in space technology. This project was a contribution of students in the Year of Russian cosmonautics and the 50th anniversary of space flight by Yuri Gagarin.
Specialized in aeromodelling magazines increasingly published articles about the model aircraft with electric. Today betrothe quite successfully fly and kordovye, and Svobodnaya, and RC models. The reasons are many, and one of the main can rightly be considered the appearance on the market of light and powerful power sources and motors, a compact and lightweight remote control equipment.
In the last decade popular form of modeling the guys is to build plastic models-copies of ready sets. And it is clear. No need to look for scarce materials and components – almost everything you need is in the box. A beginner, even inept Modeler-student can easily pick a few ready-made parts than to cut them from scratch, because so eager to get the toy like a real tank, ship or aircraft, that neither the exact fit of parts, nor to the fine detailing of patience is not enough. It is clear that “copy number” of such models it is possible to speak only conditionally.
